The Windows Computer of Tomorrow – Today

You may feel a bit odd at times by how I write about Mac and Apple products. I wouldn’t be surprised if you have ever thought — when are we going to get something this functional or so “great” ? The truth is that Microsoft has created or allowed for the computer of tomorrow to be here today and its available right now. This thought just hit me within the past few days. My analysis of the situation is not original but I think its a great synthesis of what is possible for a Windows computer user at the moment.

Main Point: Own 3 computers for the price of two or less.

Explanation: Your Windows 8 (now 8.1) computer will be a tablet, a laptop, and a desktop. Certainly it can be the first two, even if you are not looking for a traditional desktop. One device can be an iPad-like tablet, a slim laptop, and, when plugged into a monitor, keyboard and mouse a robust desktop.

Show me? I can think of 6 examples on the market which can deliver this experience
1. Microsoft’s own Surface Pro 2 (yes, microsoft sells computers now) http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/products/surface-pro-2

2. HP EliteBook Revolve 810

3. Lenovo Thinkpad Helix http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/thinkpad/thinkpad-helix/

4. Lenovo Thinkpad Twist http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/twist-series/s230u/

5. Lenovo Thinkpad X230t http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x230t/
