3 minute review – a few nice things to say about Best Buy and a Samsung TV
Over the years you know that I haven’t had a lot of nice things to say about Best Buy or big box stores in general. Their selection of computers is awful and usually far below the standard (not necessarily the price) that I recommend to my clients. Furthermore, their "technician squad" is a competitor. No sane business person would knowingly give business away.
However, they do have a purchasing option that you should be aware of. I’ve used this for both personal and client purchases. You can buy something on BestBuy.com and PICK UP IN STORE, provided it is at your local Best Buy. You can find this out before paying. It’s quick and simple. Your item is moved to the the front of the store for a get in / get out experience. You won’t be schmoozed into buying other products or services. You won’t get lost in the store.
Recently I used this option in the process of setting up this TV for a customer. http://tinyurl.com/pjvyxosWe placed the order from home and upon arrival at the Best Buy, we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. That Samsung model is great for the price (37 inch – $70 more). It was made on this continent, not China. The picture quality is great and the sound is better than most inexpensive TVs. The biggest hassle was that the base needed 8 screws (included).
