Motorola will be coming out with a 10 inch tablet computer within one month called the XOOM. I believe this will be the first serious competitor to the iPad from Apple. It runs Google’s Android software. From reading my various communications over the past 4 months, you should know that i am a big fan of Android and its potential. It’s not necessarily better than Apple’s mobile platform (iOS), but it may be depending on your use. Android is a worthy alternative. Pricing for the XOOM will be in line with the iPad: $600 for a WiFi only version and $800 for a WiFi + Cellular version. The cellular internet (no calling) service will be provided by Verizon and no contract is needed.
