Warning to Internet Explorer Users
Consider this to be an urgent update for those of you using Windows and primarily using Internet Explorer as your browser.
I have been telling you for a few years now to consider using Firefox (or even Apple’s Safari for Windows) as your primary browser and to only use Internet Explorer if you absolutely have to. Unfortunately, there are a few websites out there that are so poorly written that they can ONLY be viewed in Internet Explorer.
A security threat to Internet Explorer has developed in the past week and Microsoft HAS NOT been able to fix it yet. You can take some steps toward prevention however.
1) If you are using Internet Explorer as your primary browser now, please click on the link at the end of this email. You will be taken to a Microsoft page where you can click a button that says ENABLE WORKAROUND. This will block Active X Video in Internet Explorer. This is the temporary solution that Microsoft is offering.
2) Download and install Firefox (1st choice)
http://www.firefox.com
or Apple’s Safari (2nd choice)
http://www.apple.com/safari
It should not take you more than 5 – 10 minutes.
3) Begin using one of those alternative browsers as your go-to browser and only use Internet Explorer if you really have to.
Again if #1 applies to you, please click on the link at the end of this message.
